Quartz countertops are classified according to core dimensions, with significant differences in adaptability to different scenarios and performance. The core classification revolves around “component content, production process, and functional requirements”, covering high, medium, and low-end market demands.
Classified by quartz sand content (core classification):
High content quartz stone (93% -95%): Quartz sand has high purity (mostly natural crystal sand), low resin proportion, better hardness, scratch resistance, and stain resistance, not easily yellowing, suitable for kitchen countertops and high-frequency use scenarios, with a relatively high price (market price of about 800-1500 yuan/㎡);
Medium content quartz stone (90% -92%): a cost-effective choice with balanced performance and diverse colors, suitable for bathroom countertops, bar counters, and ordinary household kitchens, with a moderate price range (500-800 yuan/square meter);
Low content quartz stone (less than 90%): high proportion of resin and filler, low hardness, easy to scratch, high risk of yellowing, low price (300-500 yuan/㎡), only suitable for low-frequency use in tooling scenarios (such as temporary exhibition booths).
Classified by production process:
Die cast quartz stone: formed by high-pressure die casting, with uniform density, low porosity, strong stain resistance, and high surface glossiness (60-70 degrees), it is a mainstream high-quality quartz stone process;
Cast quartz stone: poured into shape, with low density, easy to absorb water and stain, poor glossiness (40-50 degrees), cheap price, gradually eliminated by the market.
Classified by function:
Ordinary quartz stone: basic scratch resistant and stain resistant function, without special additives;
Antibacterial quartz stone: adding antibacterial ingredients such as silver ions to inhibit bacterial growth (such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus), suitable for kitchens and medical places;
Flame retardant quartz stone: Adding flame retardants to enhance heat resistance (able to withstand short-term high temperatures), suitable for special areas near the stove.
